MY BLogs (ever most boring.. :P)

The Biggest Event

Before I tell my story, I'd like to thank my cousin Jorel for inspiring me to write another blog about the family's biggest and most important event of the summer....

This biggest event of the summer happened to be our grandparents' (father side) Golden Anniversary. Big preparations were made. The gowns, the place, the church, the invitations (which was the thing i also worked on cause I was the one who wrote the names on the invitations ) and just about everything that needs to be done for the much awaited wedding. Of course, all of our cousins and relatives who were form Atlanta came here. It was a tough, tiring, stressful preparation. Especially me. I wrote on the invitations, I created a special surprise movie. I spent almost late overnights trying to make this movie perfect. While doing those things, I tried to entertain myself by talking to my American cousins in "pure English" (Good thing my nose didn't bleed... ). I had so much fun talking to them. I get to relate myself with them.... Turns out I didn't have a hard time coping with them.

The night before the wedding day, I was sleepless trying to convert my movie into a media player type. I spent almost the whole night desperately trying and praying that he movie would convert faster (cause imagine, i'll have to wait 20M+ mins just for a 17-minute movie to convert). I lost hope that I wouldn't be able to show my movie in front of the guests. I may have done something but i wasn't able to finish it. I was in desperation to convert it until one moment, God opened up something for me. While I was doing the process of converting it for the 3rd time, I saw a connection for internet. When I chose that, WOW! THE CONVERSION WAS MUCH FASTER THAn BEFORE!!! So the movie was finally converted. Thank God! That took me about until 4am in the morning yet I was able to sleep at 6 so I wasn't able to get much sleep back then. But what the heck, it was worth it.

May 31st. "The Wedding". This was the day all our hard work will go into a good use. The wedding started at 4:30pm and I think it ended by 6. The reception was really nice that all the guests were really comfortable. That's the time where my movie was shown. I flt so happy and proud that I was able to let my grandparents enjoy their 50 years. After showing my movie, my grandparents were really happy that I made them something like that. Anyway, after the program, we had the "dancing". It was really fun. everyone, including myself, was like doing tango, ballroom dancing, waltz, cha cha and other dance types. It was really fun!!! after that, it was the hip-hop, RNB type so my cousins and I were dancing and dancing (eventhough I had stiletto heels, not caring... ). The day turned out to be well and everything was really good. Eventhough my feet was really hurt, I still had lots of fun and enjoyment during the wedding.

P.S. I'll try to post some pictures as soon as I get them.

TIPS FOR STUDENTS

AFTER SCHOOL:

1. Organize your things before going home

2. List all the things that you need to do when you get home

3. If your bus/car is not yet there to pick you up, start reading your lessons

4. When you get home, put your things in ONE place. you'll get confused if you place it everywhere (place it nearest to your study place so that you won't move a lot)

5. Once you have dressed up and fixed yourself, get the things you need to accomplish

6. for at least 20 minutes, rest your mind and relax (but be mindful of the time you spend for resting especially if you need to do a lot of things)

7. When you know that you have completed your rest, start working on your homeworks or school tasks. (start on the hardest subject so that you won't spend your whole energy on the easy ones and nothing left for the hard ones)

8. At least take dinner so you can regain you energy

9. discipline oneself with the use of computer (lessen the time for it unless if it is really important)

10. Practice multitasking. It really helps you to accomplish your work faster

* if you have extra time, you can study your lessons in advance

11. Fix your things for the following day

12. When you're done, You can go to sleep, rest or an entertainment to ease your mind

BEFORE SCHOOL:

Move quickly so that, if you forget to do something, you can still do it

DURING SCHOOL:

1. Reorganize your things so that when a teachers asks you to bring something, you won't get crazy finding it

2. Listen and take notes (for powerpoint presentations, it is BEST to get the keywords)

3. AVOID doodling in class. It's hard to relate when you got left behind.

4. Always remember what the teacher says. Sometimes, what they say appears in the test

- As much as possible, avoid watching television. You can study better without the presence of it.

lastly, BE INDUSTRIOUS AND AVOID BEING LAZY.

Fellowship-Subic

Okay, okay... so my 3-day vacation is still hectic... HECTIC BUT FUN!!!! know why? well Saturday morning, my parents and I went to our fellowship. Unfortunately, we weren't able to finish it 'cause we had to go to Subic. I spent my 3 days of no school there.. My family and I were with my relatives with my grandma and grandpa....

It was Saturday, 8:00 am, the day of our fellowship. We first started with a talk about "Family Spirituality". It ended at around 9:30am. Then comes the main event, THE YEAR II FELLOWSHIP!!! Our attire was supposed to be from the west. So all of us dressed up like a cowgirl/cowboy/a simple citizen. We started with our class adviser's opening remarks which was sort of a comedy... then came with the first game. When the break time had finally come, we had to go. We left at around 11:00 to prepare our things going to Subic.

We had lunch the we uploaded our things in the car... It took us less time than usual and we were all excited...

When we finally reached Subic, first thing i did, was to complain... I complained that our room doesn't have a good view of the sea/bay. I mean, if we go the veranda, we will just be able to see the hotel next to ours. So yeah, I complained. But, I told my mom calmly to request that we should be transferred to another room -which I really loved- . It had a good view of everything!!! so there we stayed. After that, my sister and I went for a quick swim (it was rainy though).

Second day was the most exciting day for me! The thing that I did the whole day was, TO GO SHOPPING!!!! weee!! My mom and I went to different duty free stores and luckily, we bought good stuff... our shopping hours lasted from 11:00am to 5:30pm (looong shopping huh? ) After that, our family (with relatives) gathered at the beach, playing with sand and water. There was no sunset though because it was cloudy and dark.

That night, I went night swimming with my cousin, Jorel. This is the event where most of the fun took place. I was the only person left in the pool (my cousin gave up on swimming) and it started raining... the bad thing was, I GOT WET FROM THE RAIN WHEN I WAS SWIMMING!!!! So I was like, "NOOOO!!! NABASA AKO NG ULAN!!!!" I stopped at about 9:00 in the evening.

The third and last day (monday), we went SHOPPING AGAIN!!! this time, we bought chocolates and sweets. though my mom bought several, I still bought chocolates. Know why? BECAUSE, I'LL GIVE THOSE CHOCOLATES TO MY FRIENDS AND OTHER SPECIAL PEOPLE!!! so yeah... I spent $6+ on everything. But who cares? they are my friends and they are very special to me. I budgeted everything and I was able to buy chocolates and combos for these people!!!

We ate lunch at a certain restaurant. we ordered a 16" pizza but, OUR STOMACHS WEREN'T SATISFIED SO WE ORDERED ANOTHER!!! To think, the pizzas being sold there only had two sizes: SMALL- 16" and LARGE- 24" I ate a lot.... terrible...

This was my fun and adventurous weekend/ 3-day vacation...
